Travertine brings a warm natural look to any project due to its neutral colours and pitted appearance. It can come in a brushed, polished or honed finish, and the naturally occurring gaps can be filled to give a more even look. Travertine can be seen in some of the world’s best-known architecture including the Colosseum in Rome and the Sacre-Coeur Basilica in Paris. Today it is one of the most commonly used materials in building and design and is utilised in patio areas, as a facade, and on floors and interior walls. Travertine is a terrestrial sedimentary rock that produces soft tiles that require maintenance. The use of a sealant is necessary given its porous nature.
